Default Diferent Sword Diferent properties?

Aside from the obvious upgrades you can apply to your swords do they have different properties beyond that. Different bows have different ranges and fire rates so do some swords lack the attack rates of others (Its rumoured Fellblades attack quicker than most). Has anyone checked these out? It would make sense that a shorter sword would attack quicker. I have a HUGE range of different swords and cant say Ive noticed but I wasnt really checking.

All swords attack at the same rate.

As do all axes, all hammers, all staves, and all wands. Within a type of weapon they are the same, with the exception of bows and their various properties. There could be some modifiers on a specific weapon though - doesn't the flame wand collector item out of Nolani have a 10% speed modifier?

It would seem that if bows have different rates that other weapons would also be the same. I mean who could swing a short sword at the same rate as a long sword? But apparently they're all the same, should be something GW changes IMO

They can mess with bow attack rates because there's other variables they can use to balance it, i.e. attack range & accuracy. It would be much harder to balance swords/axes/hammers if they came in different types.

If damage remained the same then what would they change? Nobody would use a sword type if it were slower than others. If there was one that was quick and had 10% penetration then everyone would use it.

The weapons should stay as they are to stay balanced.

I think they're fine as is. As mentioned above, bows have several variables that are effected. A shortbow has a great refire, but the range is real close, the flight time is so-so, and the arc isn't impressive. On the other hand, a horn bow has innate armor penetration, but a slower refire. Yadda yadda, there's a bow for every situation.

I think it's actually kinda nice to have the same speeds, because you can go for a skin/mod you like without hassle.
